Soft Fascination

There are days when it feels like you have too many “mental tabs” open. Your brain overheats from the overdrive.

I liked this concept from Dr. Lisa Damour, a clinical psychologist, about soft fascination.

It means doing simple, low-effort tasks — washing dishes, folding laundry, or gardening — so your mind can wander, connect ideas, and solve problems.

It’s a fascinating concept; the less we push, the more we gain. If we loosen our grip and surrender ourselves to a bit of mundanity, our subconscious takes over. And even the hairiest issues can be sorted.

P.S. That’s why I consider folding laundry my favorite chore :)
