I Am...

One of the concepts I continually revisit is self-talk. The most powerful story in the world is one we tell ourselves.

I shouldn’t be surprised at this point by how much inner dialogue affects me. The more grace & kindness I use, the long-term outcomes tend to be much, much better.

One of these phrases I think about is completing this statement: “I am…” I don’t just exercise; I am an athlete. I don’t just cook; I am a chef.

Sure, my skills can be extremely pedestrian :) But if I can start to think of myself as a chef-in-training or athlete-in-training, belief grows and commitment accelerates.

A reminder to be mindful about any words that follow “I am” — because everything that follows determines our future.
